Supportive Care

In addition to providing excellent end-of-life care for residents, we also offer supportive care services for caregivers and family members from the moment their loved one arrives at Hospice, all at no charge.

Loved ones can access programs and services such as:

Home Cooking.

All meals are provided at no cost to residents. Our Nutritional Services Coordinator and kitchen volunteers prepare meals according to the dietary needs and preferences of our residents. Family members are welcome to bring in special meals and prepare food for their loved ones within the family bistro equipped with stove, oven, microwave, and refrigerator.

Full-meals are not provided for family members; however, we provide complimentary home-made soup, baked goods, coffee and tea daily in the Great Room for family members.

It costs $30,000 a year to provide food at no cost for our residents and their loved ones.

To help offset the cost of providing delicious and nutritious meals, a donation box is located in the Great Room or donate and give the gift of food.

Visiting Hours

We welcome family and visitors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

For visiting after 7:30 p.m. or before 6:30 a.m., please locate the doorbell at the entrance of the building and a nurse will be happy to escort you in. Visitors are asked to check in at the reception desk upon arrival and departure so that we know who is in the building in case of emergencies.

Whether that’s cooking family meals in the bistro, relaxing on the patio, or spending quality time in one of our spacious living rooms – we encourage you to make St. Joseph’s Hospice your home. Available to children and families visiting our Hospice Residence, our Children’s Grief Cart is FULL of supplies, activities, and resources!

Your Furry Family

Pets are welcome to visit!

We ask that they have up-to-date vaccines, be well groomed, and be of gentle temperament. Pets are to be supervised and, on a leash, or in a travelling case. You’ll find dog treats and a water bowl in the Great Room for your pets’ comfort, but we ask that the pet owners provide adequate food, water and outside bathroom trips when visiting.

Don’t have a pet, but want to benefit from the friendship a dog can provide?

St. Joseph’s Hospice partners with the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dogs to bring joy and comfort to residents in our hospice home and their families.
