Donor Recognition

The St. Joseph’s Hospice donor wall was created as a tribute to the generosity of donors, past and present, who have supported our organization. It proudly recognizes those whose outstanding generosity demonstrates a spirit of giving which has improved hospice palliative care in our community and provides a way of commemorating the life of a loved one.

The donor wall is an installation in the lobby of our Hospice home to recognize and acknowledge our current donors. A special acknowledgment will be granted to donors who have given a lifetime gift of over $100,000. These donors will continue to be acknowledged as significant stakeholders and forever woven into the fabric of St. Joseph’s Hospice.

A donor will be recognized on our Donor Wall if they fall into one of the following categories:

  • The donor has given a gift of more than $5,000 in the past fiscal year (April 1st - March 31st of the previous year)

  • The donor has given a gift in the past fiscal year AND their lifetime total giving is more than $5,000.

Special acknowledgment to donors that have given a lifetime gift of more than $25,000 will be displayed on our Hospice donor wall.

You contribute generously. You help to change lives today.

Thank you for all that you do.

Hospices are not funded the same way that hospitals are funded. Hospice is only 50% funded by the government. We rely on donations to fund the remaining half of the budget each year. At St. Joseph’s Hospice, we must raise approximately $1.3 million each year to keep our doors open.

A gift to St. Joseph’s Hospice goes a long way towards making a difference to people at one of the most important times in their lives.

YOUR GIFT IN ACTION

A gift to St. Joseph’s Hospice has a transformative impact.

Hospice palliative care is about adding life to days, not days to life. When you donate to Hospice, you help provide compassionate care to individuals and their families at one of the most important times in their lives.

Each day, our palliative care staff bring warmth and comfort to those living with a palliative illness. Each day, our client services staff match dedicated volunteers to bring companionship to the most isolated members of our community choosing to live their final days at home. And each day, our supportive care staff listen to those grieving the loss of a loved one and walk the individualized journey of grief with those who are bereaved.

“A good hospice is a place that takes dying seriously, that knows the possibility of beauty in the midst of pain. St. Joseph’s Hospice is a good hospice, a home on the way to Home. I would wish this gift to be available for many others facing that sacred journey, so that they too can be in good company while walking their loved one Home.”
