Residential Care – Rick’s Story
Everyone matters at St. Joseph’s Hospice. Our patients, their caregivers and families, are at the heart of everything we do. We do everything we can to make each moment as unique as possible for our residents and their loved ones, like Rick and Irene.
As a true romantic, Rick wanted to host a beautiful date-night for his wife, Irene. Staff worked together to prepare a special evening, including catered three-course dinner from Restaurant Ninty One at Windermere Manor and flowers from Anderson Flowers.
“I’ve been at St. Joseph’s Hospice 24/7 since Rick arrived. Our stay is just like being at home. It’s comfort any way you want it. It’s amazing. It’s all about the patient. Not just a patient in a hospital; it really does put you first. When he first arrived, Rick said ‘It feels just like home,’ and I know I could never have given him this at home. I sleep better at Hospice than I did at home because I can see him and I know if he needs anything, he’ll be taken care of.”
