Legacy Giving – Len and Ella Lesser Story

At my age, the present is a fleeting finite moment in time and death is a future constant in my life: the only question is when and how I will die? shares Len Lesser, an Education and Career Counsellor from Dorchester, Ontario.

To help relieve his fears of the unknown, Len and his wife, Ella, came to St. Joseph’s Hospice for a tour. The building is set on a park-like setting with ten spacious suites with floor length windows and balconies facing the woods. The usual sterile antiseptic hospital odors have been replaced by the aroma of coffee, freshly baked muffins and chocolate chip cookies in the morning. Specially designed beds, chairs, air mattresses, and bathrooms help alleviate the pain for the residents and there’s even a spa offering up warm inviting baths, stylish hairstyles and manicures/pedicures to make you feel special – all offered at no cost to the clients or their family.

Len and Ella were so moved by their experience that they wanted to make a lasting investment. By adding a gift in our living Will, we will ensure that St. Joseph’s Hospice is there for people in need at the end of their lives.
